In addition, several rescues around the province often have the little small and furry ones for adoption - hamsters, rats,  gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets

Occasionally, "pet" birds will also come into rescue as well!

Looking for a purebred?    Try contacting your national and/ or regional Breed Association for the name of the breeder who is doing their regional rescue!

Special Note:   Puppy mills and back yard breeders will often advertise dogs on the free online ad sites.   These dogs may or may not have been overbred.  Even worse, they may or may not have been properly cared for!    Saddest of all is that these dogs are often advertised with no disclosure as to health or behavior issues.   In the 'Wild West' unregulated atmosphere of the free online ad sites, kind hearts looking for a pet can have their hearts broken when unanticipated health or behavior issues pose problems that folks may not be willing or able to contend with :(

Please remember that reputable breeders never need to advertise on Kijiji!  Indeed they often have waiting lists long before litters are born!

Webmaster Note:    What do reputable breeders and rescues have in common?   They both will screen new homes carefully, provide proof of proper veterinary care and will take pets back if things are not a success!

ADOPTING ONE HOMELESS PET WILL NOT CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD,

BUT IT WILL CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD FOR THAT ONE HOMELESS PET!
