Hi there, my name is Dixie and I don't understand why everyone thinks its so funny that I want to be a lapdog. After all, Atlantic Small Dog Rescue are looking after me so I must be small enough to be a lapdog, eh?
Honestly, I'm just making up for lost time. I'm still learning my p's and q's but my foster mom here at Atlantic Small Dog Rescue says that I'm a quick study. She's probably being nice because she thinks I'm such a sweet girl, but gee whiz I don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that this great new life is well worth the work.
Gosh ... I might have been brought up in a barn, but that doesn't mean I want to stay there. Its been ages since my foster Mom has needed the mop. I already understand that the food on the counter might not be there for my dining pleasure.
But foster Mom says that Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm still getting the hang of going for a leash walk with her. You just have to understand how much fun it is to be able to go out and about after never being able to go anywhere before, hmmm?
I get along really well with the other dogs in my foster mom's house and am gradually being introduced to her cats.
I might still be learning the ropes, but I can already promise that I would have more love than anyone could possibly imagine for the kind and patient heart who would be willing to open their home and their heart to a good girl in training like me.
